What You Need

• A copy of SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR installed on a Windows PC
  • Don’t have an installation? Follow VOLTEXES' Guide to set one up.
    • No Windows PC? Have a friend follow this step for you and send the game files, or try dualbooting Windows on your Steam Deck.
• A USB drive, SD card, or other way to transfer files to your Steam Deck
  • SOUND VOLTEX is huge! Try to use the fastest transfer medium you have available. This guide will use a USB drive for transfer.

Instructions

Section I - Prep Work

1. Launch SOUND VOLTEX and make sure it’s updated. You can do this by going to https://p.eagate.573.jp/game/konasteapp/API/login/login.html?game_id=sdvx and logging in with your KONAMI ID. If a popup in Japanese appears, click OK and then click Update to let the game update. You can also press the update button in the launcher to open the updater and double check.

   

Section II - Windows PC

1. Find your SOUND VOLTEX installation in Windows Explorer. Check for a folder called Resource inside it. These will be your installation and resource folders, respectively.
   • Typically, this will be located under C:\\Games\\SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR\\.
     • Cannot find your installation, or the Resource folder?
2. Copy the installation and resource folders to a USB drive or SD card with enough capacity. If the resource folder is already inside the installation folder, no need to copy it seperately: just copy the installation folder and leave the resource folder inside it to keep things simple.

Section III - Steam Deck

1. On your Steam Deck, press the STEAM button and go to Power. Choose Switch to Desktop to load the desktop environment.

2. Plug in your USB drive or SD card. Click Mount and Open on the window that appears. Create a new dedicated folder to store SOUND VOLTEX files, and then copy the installation/resource folders to that folder on your Steam Deck.

   • A good place to put such a folder would be in the Documents folder. For this guide’s example, we’ll use a folder in Documents named SDVX6 as the containing folder, and an installation folder called Konaste, with the Resource folder inside it.

3. Note down the paths to your installation and resource folders, as well as its containing folder. To find the full path, click on the blank space to the right of the folder path in the top bar to show the full path.

   • It’s best to copy the paths to these folders so they can be recalled later, as they will be used multiple times in this guide. You can paste them in the app Kate, a text editor that’s preinstalled on the Steam Deck.
     • Future steps will require the installation, resource, and containing folder paths.

   

   In this guide, the example paths will be:

   • /home/deck/Documents/SDVX6/ - Containing
   • /home/deck/Documents/SDVX6/Konaste/ - Installation
   • /home/deck/Documents/SDVX6/Konaste/Resource/ - Resource
